Duties, Accomplishments, and Related Skills:
I serve as a Government Information Specialist in the Bureau of Administration, Global Information Services, Office of Information and Program Services (A/GIS/IPS) office. Supporting FOIA case processing through the management of FOIA/Privacy Act request. I distributed knowledge and information to the public and other government agencies, through the channels of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Privacy Act. In my position, I executed transparency, efficiency, and 2 ntegrity by producing information in a timely manner while protecting classified information on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide FOIA review and processing of pending, complex FOIA cases.
• Evaluate the impact of the Privacy Act and regulations on the organization’s activities
• Provide technical guidance and direction to customers on Disclosure/Privacy matters including the routine maintenance of files containing sensitive personnel and confidential issues to ensure proper Disclosure compliance.
• Coordinate, review and approve the release and non-release of information on all requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA) of 1974, E.O. 13526.
• Conduct training for the organization concerning the disclosure of information under the
Disclosure/Privacy statutes
• Scan FOIA support documents related to cases assigned into the FOIA database
• Prepare documentation for, and draft responses to, FOIA requests, coordinating proposed disclosures of
information for several entities within the agency
• Process submitter notices associated with specific FOIA cases
• Provide initial analysis of submitter objections
• Redact documents in accordance with agency/entity FOIA protocols which include annotating appropriate FOIA exemptions on records
• Process draft responses to submitters of objections to release of information in records
• Generate draft response letters to requestors detailing the FOIA review and release determination.
• Maintain complete and detailed case notes on all assigned cases
• Support agency litigation efforts, in coordination with the office of disclosure, by crafting, declarations, affidavits, answers to complaints, and supplemental releases


Major Accomplishments:
• Served as the chair of the IPS Culture working Group, a group created by IPS Director, Eric Stein designated to the cultivation of a high-moral efficient workplace culture.
• Successfully created and presented IPS Division wide trainings and presentations.
• Delivered keynote presentations at 4 IPS All-Hands meetings.
